Rich in the taste, All time favorite Indian dessert and specially Bollywood’s popular Gajar Halwa……

Ingredients:

5-6 thickly grated carrot
1 1/2 tbsp ghee
1 cup milk
4 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp raisins (kismis)
1 tbsp chopped almonds (badam)
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
4 tbsp mava (khoya) optional

Method:

Heat the ghee in a pan; add the carrots and sauté on a medium flame for 10-12 min, stirring continuously.
Add the milk, mix well and cook till all the milk vaporise and oil separates from the side.
Add the sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the raisins, almonds and cardamom powder and cook for another 1 minute.
Garnish with dryfruits and Serve hot or warm.

Tip:
Add mava after mixing sugar, by reducing the milk quantity to 1/2 cup.
