As we know Karela/karla it bitter in the taste, and many of us dont like it. But there is many health benefits of Karela… like Diabetics, Psoriasis, Stomach and intestinal disorders, Kidney stones, Liver disease. It also help in reducing weight.
Well today I made ths dish, which has less oil , and it doesn’t tastes that bitter… and definitely you will love it.
5-6 Karela(Washed and cut in the middle)
1/2 – 1 Cup roasted peanut powder(coarsely grounded)( qauntity varies b’coz sometimes we get tiny Karelas )
1 Tbsp Red chilli powder or as per taste
2 Tsp Garam Masala
4-5 Garlic cloves (make paste)
2 Tbsp Chopped Coriander
Salt as per taste
Sprinkle pinch of salt in each gap of Karela, set aside. Meanwhile mix all ingredients well. Extract the water from Karela by pressing it. Now stuff all Karelas well with the stuffing we made earilier.
Now in a pan, heat oil and add all karelas and put on lid and keep it on low flame until it gets cooked/tender, turn all sides eventually.
Serve with roti/chapati, roasted papad and onion.
1) If you dont want Karera in very bitter taste…. when you go buy them try to buy it tender or I will say baby karelas, not over tender(they has seed in it). Baby karela tastes less bitter.
2)Don’t put on high heat, as they will will burn from outside and will be undercooked.
3) If somehow it stick at bottom, sprinkle some water.
