This recipe of methi is very easy to make and tastes delicious. It is often served as a side dish with daal chawal(varan bhat in marathi). It is also very useful dish to carry while traveling.
2 Medium size bunch of methi leaves
2-4 Garlic cloves crushed in mortar and pestel(I had very big cloves so used only 2)
2-4 green chilies chopped (as per taste)
1/2 Cumin seeds
1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder(optional)
Salt as per taste
1 Tbsp Oil
2-2 1/2 Tbsp Peanut powder (coarsely grounded)
pinch of asefoetida
Pick and wash methi leaves. In a pan heat oil, add cumin seeds and garlic paste, saute for 30 sec or until garlic leaves raw flavor. Add green chilies, saute for 30 sec, add turmeric, asefoetida mix well and add methi leaves, salt, saute on low heat for 1-2 min(stirring occasionally). Cover and cook for 6-7 min on medium low heat or till methi leaves gets done. Add peanut powder, mix well and cook for one min.
