A popular mumbai street food…..
4 Cup Cooked white rice
1 Finely chopped Onion
1/4 Cup diced carrot
3-4 finely chopped Tomatoes
3/4 finely chopped Green capsicum 0r 1 medium capsicum
1/4 Cup green peas, boiled and coarsely mashed
2 1/2 Tsp ginger garlic paste
1 Tsp Cumin seeds
1 1/2 Tsp red chilli powder or paste
5 Tsp Pavbhaji masala(any brand, But I prefer Everest brand)
salt for taste
2 Tbsp oil
2 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
4 Tbsp water
Coriander for garnishing
Heat oil in a pan, Add cumin seeds, saute till well browned. Add onion(add pinch of salt), cook till its transparent and lightly browned. Add ginger garlic paste, saute till it becomes pink. add tomatoes, cook till soft and leaves oil from sides.
Now add carrots, green peas, pavbhaji masala, red chilli powder/paste and little water. Mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Now add rice, green capsicum, add salt and lemon juice. sprinkle coriander leaves, mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes on high heat.
Serve hot with papad, raita and enjoy 🙂
1) You can use a day before rice for this recipe.
2) Be gentle while mixing rice and masalas as it might break rice.
