Few days back, I bought apricots and pears. Apricots was so sour, couldn’t even eat one and the Pears was getting over ripe.They were just sitting in the fridge for weeks and I was feeling so bad looking at them and getting spoiled. I was thinking to make something with it, but wanted something easy and less ingredients. Then I just thought, why not to combine both fruits and make fruit rolls? Yes, I ran into kitchen. grabbed these fruits, some other ingredients and started to make fruit rolls. The final product was so yummy. I hope you will give it a try 🙂
6-7 Apricots (washed, cut and deseeded)
2 ripped Pears(washed, peeled, cut and deseeded)
2-3 Tbsp sugar/honey
1/2 Tsp Fennel seeds
1/4 Tsp carom seeds
Dry roast the fennel and carom seeds until aroma comes out. In a blender, add both fruits and blend it till smooth, chunk free puree.
In a pan add the puree, and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Add roasted spices, sugar and mix well. Cook untill pure starts to thicken a bit. In a greased tray, pour the mixture and spread it evenly, thinly. put the tray directly into sunlight. after few hours cut it into shape you like. Pull it out gently, change the sides and put into sunlight again to dry it completely.
1) If anyone wants to keep skin of pears, they can. Just keep in mind that the green peel can change the color of fruit rolls.
2)When we add sugar, after dissolving it.. taste the mixture, one can add more sugar if wish at this point.
3) one can skip the spices and make just simple fruit rolls.
