Who doesn’t know Thalipeeth! It is staple food in many Maharastrian household. Savory pancakes made using multi-grain flour(bhajani in marathi), chopped onions and spices. It is very healthy and nutritious because of the use of whole grains.

3 Cup bhajaniche pith/ mixed grain flour
8 Green chilies depending on how spicy they are or as per taste
2 Medium size onion/ 3/4-1 cup finely chopped onion
2-3 Garlic cloves, if small take 5-6
1/2 inch ginger
1/4th Tsp cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric(optional)
handful of coriander
Salt as per taste(approx 1 1/4-1 1/2 tsp)
Water as needed

Make green chili, ginger, garlic paste in mixer(Add little water if needed). In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except water. First mix all the ingredients and try to make dough. Add water little by little(do not add water all at once, onion and coriander leaves its juices.) and make medium soft dough, keep it aside for 15 min.

Wet a cotton cloth, wet your fingers,  take a golf size ball of the dough and pat it using your fingers to make medium thin flat pancake(if necessary wet your fingers with water to avoid sticking). Make some holes to the thalipeeth. Meanwhile heat a pan on medium heat. apply some oil using spatula now gently turn the cloth upside down directly on the pan and ease off the thalipeeth. Pour some oil into holes and sides and cook it on medium heat till both sides becomes golden brown.

Serve hot with, yogurt, roasted papad and pickle or with a dollop of homemade butter.
